Wooow, I’m officially in love! And it’s not with a Brazilian supermodel this time, I’m actually in love with a new British supercar. Aston Martin has recently revealed the successor of the DBS, a car that we previewed a couple of weeks here as well, called the Aston Martin AM 310 Vanquish.
If you thought the DBS was mind blowing, wait ’till you hear about this supercar. It’s lighter, faster and even more beautiful if I had to describe it in just a couple of words. Each body panel is made from carbon fiber while the rigidity of the car has been improved by more than 25 percent.
The powerful 6.0L V12 engine that ‘hides’ under the hood was upgraded to produce 565 horsepower and 620 Nm of torque and it was connected to Touchtronic 2 six speed automatic gearbox. With this engine, the AM 310 Vanquish can go from 0 to 62 mph in 4.1 seconds and it could reach a top speed of 183 mph (295 km/h). You might say it’s not as fast as other supercars but I’m sure none of us had the chance to go with over 200 mph so I’m going to say it’s powerful enough.
The car’s design was influenced by the limited edition Aston Martin One-77 with the new waist, longer side strakes, LED rear light blades and.. many more. The price for this beauty? ‘just’ £189,995 RRP which is close to $300k ($296,105 to be more exact). The first deliveries will begin in the last months of 2012.
