In case you don’t know this yet, the Ariel Atom is one of the fastest cars in the world, being able to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, even though it has a small 2.4L Honda engine on-board. But it weights just 1,450 pounds (or about 657 kg for our fans from Europe) and, with that huge power to weight ratio, that’s why it’s so breathtakingly fast.

But a company called DDMWorks turned this tiny car into something that might be almost as fast as a Formula 1 car, the Ariel Atom 700. Why 700? Because the car’s engine, fitted with a turbocharger and a supercharger as well by these guys, is able to produce a staggering 700 horsepower, which leads to a power to weight ratio of 2.07 pounds/hp, a loot better than the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport or the Aventador for example.

If that’s too much for you, this company will also offer two lower power levels: 450 hp and 575 hp. DDMWorks also modified the car’s exhaust and made other tweaks here and there to handle the extra power. No word on pricing or performances yet, but I’m pretty damn sure this car is insanely fast!!
