The Rio Olympics Just Got More Interesting Because Of This Mother And Son Duo
How awesome is the fact that there will be a mother and son duo competing in the Olympics? Yes, that’s right, we will be seeing actual history in the making as Nino Salukvadze (yep, that’s a chick’s name), competes with her son Tsotne Machavariani in this Olympic’s target shooting event. They will be the first mother and son to compete in the Olympics at the same time.
As if disappointing your team mates is bad enough, 18-year-old Tsotne will also disappoint his mom if he ever loses. I wonder if his mom will ever punish him if ever that happens, God forbid. And how? Will he get grounded and not allowed to play anymore? Or the exact opposite? “There’s no dinner for you young man until you beat me”. And then they duel. Cool.
What’s more interesting is that this will be Nino’s eighth Olympics! That’s how awesome she is. No wonder she was able to stay long enough to see her son get into the Olympics as well – and even be her freaking teammate!
I wonder how it’s like living in a home where target shooters live. Do they practice before breakfast? Does Nino use her awesome skills to cook breakfast? Do they use their ultra high dexterity to perform awesome tricks on a daily basis?
We can only guess.
One thing is for sure though, I wasn’t really a fan of target shooting before. It was one of those games that I don’t really watch. But this year, it will be different. I will actually be watching Team Georgia this time.
And by the way, just to give you an idea of how long Nino has been playing for the Olympics, Georgia was actually Soviet territory before, so she competed for the Soviet Union team in 1988. Some of us weren’t even born yet and Nino was already hot and a total badass shooting any moving target.
