I admit, I’ve been working online for almost a decade now, but as a writer I have not yet seen the dire need to upgrade my screen to three displays. I get it with graphic artists and gamers…but me? I think I’m easily distracted with looking at three.
That was me just a year ago.
Now, call it envy, or my tendency to be eventually persuaded by my materialistic nature after a long tug-of-war, I think I am beginning to see the convenience of having three screens at my disposal. But what about portability? Sure, I can set this up at home and at work – but what about those days when I’m on the go or doing research in the field?
This is why Razer’s Project Valerie is so awesome!
It’s a laptop with three 4k displays! Who says you can’t enjoy that wraparound set-up whilst on the road? Because with this baby, you can. And we’re not talking about carrying around a bigger gaming console of sorts with notebook-like screens. We’re talking about the big leagues here. Three whopping 17.3-inch 4k displays.
So how does it work?
Well, it folds like you’re regular laptop but expect it to be bigger and heavier. Once you unfold the monitor, the two side monitors automatically unfolds outwards as well.
If you want to take this baby home then you better start saving up now. There’s no final price released just yet, including the specs of the hardware inside this wonder. However, they did confirm two things: it’s equipped with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 with Nvidia Surround View so you can use these three screens as a single 11,520 x 2,160 pixel display.
My plans? Get one, get on the road, download some new flicks (because, you know, I need it for research) – so that’s one screen, get some writing done – so that’s two screens, and what do you know? I still have an extra screen for my internet browser.
