Halloween Drinks: The Red Blood Pomegranate Tequila

It’s the spooky season once again, and you know what that means right? Yes it’s time for crazy Halloween parties! And you know what’ll make your party more awesome? Halloween-themed drinks! And for that, I’m proud to say that we’ve got you covered. In fact, we’ve got two articles dedicated just for that. For this first one, it’s a blood red pomegranate tequila. Perfect for the bloodsucking vampires within.

Here are the ingredients:

Kosher salt

Lime, chopped into wedges

One and a half cup of tequila

One and a half cup of lime juice

A cup of the bloodiest pomegranate syrup you can find!

And around 24 dashes of orange bitters to give that extra bite of taste

Let’s begin making it!

First thing to do is to prepare the glasses so everything will be smooth sailing after you’re done mixing your bloody poison. This recipe is enough to make up to eight servings, so get eight cocktail glasses ready.

Get a small dish to put your salt in. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your cocktail glass and dip it on the salt to give it a coat. Once all the glasses are ready, it’s time to start mixing. Fill a pitcher with ice and here combine tequila, lime juice, the bloody syrup and your orange bitters. Stir the mix well to get all the flavors carefully mixed together. Once you’re done stirring, strain it and pour into the pre-prepared cocktail glasses. And voila!

Hold on a sec…

If you really want to get this drink to the next level, then you can replace kosher salt with Black Lava salt. Yes, that’s a thing. Impress your friends. You can get some via Amazon. I mean, seriously, is there anything you can’t get through Amazon?

And finally, if you really can’t find a pre-prepared pomegranate syrup, then don’t worry. You can make your own! Mix equal parts sugar with equal parts unsweetened pomegranate juice. I for one, love making a little bit of extra syrup because I use it beyond cocktails. Like for my hangover breakfast the next day – anyone up for bloody pomegranate pancakes?
