The Vancouver Canucks had a loss on the road on Tuesday in Nashville against the Predators, and you have to give Mike Fisher the respect he deserves. This guy was feeling horrible, probably puking up his guts with flu-like symptoms ever since Sunday. He was busy recovering Monday, and played one hell of a game on the 21st to knock down the ‘Nucks.
This guy didn’t just play an average game, he grabbed a goal and a sick pair of assists. The Predators went up 2-0 until the end of the second, when Dale Weise score a pretty backhand on a flyby in the crease. Unfortunately for the Canucks, they couldn’t do anything with it, leaving it the only goal for them in the game.
The Predators’ didn’t just have great offense, they have a rock in net. Pekka Rinne stopped 32 shots, only letting a single of the 33 in for a nearly 97% save percentage. With a goalie like that, you hardly have to make plays. Even so, the Predators upped the intensity in the third, outshooting and outplaying the Canucks to the end.
The win by the Predators means that the Canucks nice 4 game winning streak is at an end, and puts the Preds at a respectable 35-19-6, showing that they are no slouches on the ice. The Canucks are hovering at an awesome 38-16-6, dominating their division.
