All out brawl and dirty hits in Canucks Bruins showdown

In case you’ve missed this.. The Vancouver Canucks and the Boston Bruins have nothing but bad blood for each other since the 2011 Stanley Cup which saw the Bruins crowned champions. The Canucks have been hungry for redemption, and they were out for blood- and blood they got.

An all out brawl broke out between the two teams, with both teams’ players grabbing and punching any opponent they could find in an old fashioned blood bath. There’s nothing like a damn good brawl to fire up the crowd and the players.

Canucks’ Dale Weise squared off against Boston’s Tyler Horton in the best fight of the new year while their teams duked it out. Horton had the early advantage, knocking Weise’s helmet off with a brutal blow, but Weise managed to recover, raining crushing punches on Horton near the end of the fight. I’m going to give the victory to Weise for his tenacity and excellent finish.

Boston’s Brand Marchand has since been suspended for 5 games after his cheap play which left Canucks’ Sami Salo with a concussion. Marchand flipped Salo illegally, taking out one of the Canucks’ veteran defensive players.

The Canucks skated away with a 4-3 victory, finally redeeming themselves after their loss in the 2011 Stanley Cup final. There are sure to be intense matches in the future between these two rivals- keep your eyes peeled for more showdowns.
