Alabama demolish Notre Dame to repeat as BCS champions

Now that was pretty disappointing. The 2013 BCS National Championship was dominated from start to finish by the Alabama Crimson Tide who knocked off the Notre Dame Fighting Irish by a score of 42-12. They’ve claimed their second straight national title and third in four years with another surprisingly easy title game.

I’m pretty sure a lot of us had big expectations about this game but Eddie Lacy, AJ McCarron and the entire Crimson Tide just rolled over Notre Dame, quieting them by the first play of the second quarter. The matchup between two of the most storied programs from the country was reduced to nothing more than just the second straight BCS blowout for the Crimson Tide.

Even though AJ was brilliant, Eddie Lacy was the deserving offensive MVP, running for 140 yards on 20 carries and scoring one touchdown, and also catching a pass for another TD in the final minute of the first half, going through the Notre Dame defense easily to cap a 28-0 halftime lead. A brilliant performance, almost as great as his play against Georgia in the SEC title game.

Now back to AJ McCarron, his uber hot girlfriend (Miss Alabama) and his awesome mom. This guy completed 20 of 28 passes for four touchdowns and 264 yards, an amazing effort to top his performance in last year’s title game when he was named MVP. Alabama dominated on both sides of the ball, and probably that’s why this victory looked so easy.
