Humor makes the world go around and what better way to “roll on the floor laughing” than spending the night with an ice-cold beer and some friends (lovers / or by yourself – nothing wrong with that) watching hilariousness.
So today, we’re going to help make that plan of yours happen. We’ve compiled the top 10 best comedies of 2014 so far with the help of IMDb ratings.
10. About Last Night
We all know how notorious Kevin Hart is when it comes to punching those smart-ass lines. Now, put him in a movie with Michael Ealy that follows the plot line of two men going from the bar to the bedroom and learning the perils of going steady and you’ve got pure comedy on hand. It’s at its funniest every time Hart and his partner, played by Regina Hall, share the screen together, and we all know how Hall goes whack in Scary Movie.
What do you get when you put a young couple with a newborn baby to live next to a frat house? Neighbors. It’s everything you imagine a chaotic and hilarious film would be, which by the end of it will make you realize why you should scout out the place your planning to buy or rent before you actually do!
8. That Awkward Moment
Another one that’s got that High School Musical dude in it – Zac Efron. This film makes that moment where we all go, “So where is this going?” funny as hell. It’s a commendable manly take on the gushy relationship bits.
7. A Haunted House 2
If you want a no-brainer comedy that can crack you up for no sensible reason at all then leave it to Marlon Wayans and A Haunted House 2. Wayans moves to a new home that’s supposedly haunted but that’s not the worst part. To top it off, the ghost of his dead ex moves to the house across his and well, all hilarious hell breaks loose.
6. 22 Jump Street
We did enjoy 21 Jump Street and this sequel hit the comedy mark just as well as the first one did, if not even more. The boys aren’t “21” anymore but at 22, they’re about to go for another round of undercover mayhem. Personally, here at Brosome we’ve debated why this was ranked so low as staff here absolutely love it. Damn it user votes of IMDb!
5. Sex Tape
Glad we caught your attention: Yes, this is exactly what you thought it would be. A sex tape made by a couple that wanted to spice things up, only to find out the file was synced to Jason Segel’s character’s iCloud account. This is where it gets sexciting— when they try and get the file back before the rest of the world makes it their instructional video. Guys, switch out a movie with pictures and do you realize this entire plot line just happened in real life! Holy sh!t!
Blended is what happens when you allow a clumsy and messy widower to meet a female divorcee obsessed with perfection. We all know how Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler aced 50 First Dates, so there’s absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t catch this film and expect the same.
3. Let’s Be Cops
Two dudes walk into a masquerade party dressed as cops and all hell breaks loose. What do you get? Two “heroes” who now need to live up to their fake badges as they get caught between mobs and unforgiving detectives. Seriously hilarious!
This movie’s definitely one of the best comedies of the year so far. It packs a lot of witty, fast-paced dialogues, a lot of mouth-watering food and yes, possibly the funniest breakdown scene we’ve seen in quite a while.
1. The Grand Budapest Hotel
Aside from the fact that this movie is a visual trip, The Grand Budapest Hotel has definitely the kind of unique and unforgettable humor that’s got any Wes Anderson fan clapping and those unfamiliar to him becoming an instant fan.
Alright folks, now all you’ve got to do is get on it (but don’t forget the beer and probably a whole lot of chicken wings while you’re at it)!
